Abstract
Chizhou Nuo Opera, regarded as one of China’s intangible cultural heritages, boasts rich historical and cultural significance, along with distinctive visual artistic traits. This paper seeks to investigate methods for innovating visual symbols in the context of heritage preservation through the lens of visual design. Furthermore, it examines how these visual symbols could effectively apply in the design of cultural and creative products, thereby promoting the dissemination and evolution of traditional culture. The study provides an in-depth exploration of the historical and cultural context surrounding Chizhou Nuo Opera, alongside a comprehensive analysis of its visual symbol system. By discussing contemporary applications of creative products, the paper ultimately proposes a strategy that merges inheritance with innovation. This includes the reimagining of traditional visual symbols, the pursuit of cross-disciplinary collaborations, and the expansion of market opportunities for creative products.
